How to Use Variphy’s Directory Number Management Feature

Identify Directory Numbers (DNs) by Status

Directory numbers (DNs) are like extensions within your unified communications environment. These numbers may be associated with hunt pilots, user extensions, and voicemail ports. Many organizations keep track of DNs manually through spreadsheets . . . which can be prone to human error.

Our DN Management feature keeps your data out of spreadsheets and makes it easier to track. UCM administrators can quickly see if DNs are available, inactive/unassigned, or active within your UCM.

Search and Identify DNs

Once integrated, this feature allows you to find:

Active DNs — Assigned DNs that are in use and active within your UCM. They appear in red in the search results.

Inactive/Unassigned — DNs that are assigned in your UCM but are not associated to a device. These will appear in blue in the search results.

Available — DNs that do not exist within your UCM.  These are available to be assigned and appear as green in the search results.

Lastly, we can also keep an inventory of your direct-inward-dial (DID) numbers and associate them to your DNs.
